United Friends School's Inspiring Website Reaches Parents and Trustees
May 29, 2008
Bala Cynwyd, PA
– United Friends School communicates with the members of their community in a pioneering style. This approach dates back to when the school was founded. Shelly Bittman, Director of Development recently shares,

United Friends School, in Quakertown, PA was
founded in 1983 as a cooperative school by a
group of parents seeking an education for
children in preschool through eighth grade based
on the Quaker principles of care for one another,
            truthfulness, simplicity, community, and peaceful
settlement of disputes. The School's mission is to
make each day an inspiring learning experience
guided by the Quaker testimonies of simplicity,
peace, integrity, community, equality and service.

In creating their website, the employees of United Friends School kept each part of their community in mind and included a special section for each. Most notably, the Parents and Trustees sections are password-protected, allowing confidential material to be posted and kept private for Parents and Trustees.

This ability to group users and assign permissions to specific users to view and even edit material on a website is possible because of United Friends School’s partnership with Global Internet Management. Recently, Shelly Bittman, Director of Development at United Friends expressed that UFS "is delighted with the website and support of the professionals at GIM. The staff is very helpful and the site is user friendly."

The capability of having a website that can be created and edited by multiple users is possible because of GIM’s innovative software, InfoServeCM. InfoServeCM is a suite of smart content and knowledge collaboration tools that enables organizations to empower their existing web sites from static, brochure style sites to dynamic content-managed sites. GIM has assisted a number of organizations in expanding their websites from basic HTML to dynamic content managed environments.

One of the main benefits of using InfoServeCM is the ability for anyone to add or edit content on the website without possessing any programming skills or knowledge of HTML. This means it's easy to keep the site current and to constantly deliver fresh information to website viewers to encourage them to return on a daily basis.

"InfoServeCM's greatest strength is that it offers the functionality of what would be several individual software applications that would have to be purchased and implemented separately. InfoServeCM's users have the ease of cohesiveness and breadth of functionality that is not available at this value price elsewhere in the market," noted Eli Avershal, founder and president of Global Internet Management.
